Punjab shines in LEAD’s nationwide Student Championship

Punjab, 24 March 2022: Students from Punjab are among the top scorers in LEAD Championships 2021, with participants across age groups winning in different categories. 40,000 students representing more than 1200 schools across India participated in the championship, India’s biggest. LEAD Championships 2021 was organised by LEAD, India’s largest School EdTech company in the K-12 segment that is focused on improving learning outcomes for students.
LEAD’s student championship provides a platform for national exposure and holistic development, especially in non-metro locations, where school students typically do not have access to such opportunities. The 2021 edition was open to students across age groups in four categories: ‘English Champs’, ‘Science Champs’, ‘Quiz Champs’ and ‘Li’l Champs’. By motivating students to practice and demonstrate skills such as creative thinking, reading, listening, comprehension, and application of science-based concepts, LEAD focuses on comprehensive learning outcomes for students instead of only curriculum-based assessments.
Shaina Mohan of CT Pubic School (Jalandhar) was declared as the runner-up in the ‘English Champs-Senior’ category.
Sumeet Mehta, Co-founder & CEO, LEAD said, “I would like to congratulate all participants of LEAD Championship 2021 for their hard work and performance on a national platform. With LEAD, students from small towns and affordable schools now get opportunities that would otherwise never be available to them. LEAD National Championships is such a platform that helps students develop a growth mindset, boosts social skills, and grows their confidence.”

The winners of LEAD Championships 2021 took home exciting prizes worth up to INR 10 lakhs in addition to the highly coveted LEAD Championship Trophy. While each winner was awarded a tablet, a trophy, winner badge, certificate, and goodie box, each runner-up received a kindle along with a trophy, a badge, a goodie box, and a certificate. Moreover, winning schools were felicitated with trophies.

Shaina Mohan of CT Pubic School, Jalandhar, said “Thank you LEAD for making my school, parents, and teachers proud. It was an amazing experience. It’s going to be a very big event next year.”
The Principal of CT Pubic School, Jalandhar, said, “Thank you LEAD for providing our students an opportunity to participate at a national level championship. Kids from CT Public School were very excited to participate in this championship from the very first day. More and more opportunities should come to them throughout the year.”
Shaina Mohan’s parents added, “Exciting news came in when we saw the finale of LEAD Championships. We already had faith that the preparation done by Shaina would make her win. Thank you LEAD.”
The ‘English Champs’ category focused on elocution and public speaking, while the ‘Science Champs’ category provided an opportunity to students to showcase their scientific acumen and create science projects with a strong real-world connection. Through ‘Quiz Champs’, LEAD tested students’ mastery of geography, nations, current events, and news from around the world. The ‘Li’l Champs’ category focused on pre-primary students and their awareness of their surroundings: students dressed up and acted as characters from among a list of pre-identified themes.
