HDFC Bank Parivartan impacts 5,700 people across 15 villages through rural development project in Nuh, Haryana

• Project implemented across 15 villages in Nuh, benefitting over 5,700 people

Nuh, Haryana, March 29, 2024: HDFC Bank, India’s leading private sector Bank, through its flagship CSR program #Parivartan has collaborated with S M Sehgal Foundation, a rural development NGO for the socio-economic development of 15 villages of Nuh district of Haryana, positively impacting 5,700 people. The Holistic Rural Development Program under the HDFC #Parivartan banner covers themes of natural resource management, promotion of education, livelihood and skill development, and healthcare and sanitation. The project was implemented from January 2021 to March 2024.
The focus of the project is to improve the socio-economic status of marginal communities, particularly farmers, women, and landless individuals. The holistic rural development program covers issues of soil health, traditional cropping systems, static agriculture production, women’s drudgery, education infrastructure, hygiene, and sanitation.

Some of the Key Deliverables of this project are –
 1950 farmers will experience practical and technicalities of scientific crop production and techniques through Field Days and exposures.
 5 farmers will be supported with farm machinery to earn additional income.
 200 farmers will be trained in advanced agricultural practices through farmer training.
 270 farmers will be provided with millet, wheat, and mustard PoP for better productivity
 5 farmers will be introduced to alternative farm income through vegetable cultivation through farmer field school.
 30 units of goatry units with goat sheds will be provided to landless enterprising women farmers for income generation by selling goat milk and meat.
 3 School will be transformed into Smart school with a new sanitation unit, science laboratory, library and drinking water station to improve the quality in education.
 3 Anganwadi will be renovated to a better and healthier environment for children.
 70 sprinkler irrigation system units will be provided to identify farmers for promoting water-saving irrigation practices.
 10 drip irrigation system units will be provided to identify farmers for promoting water-saving irrigation practices.
 30 solar street lights, 30 solar spray pumps, and 2 solar water pumps will be provided and installed in villages to promote green energy.
 3000 multipurpose plants will be planted on community lands of the village to create greener and healthier environment.
 30 sanitation drives will be organized to create awareness around health and hygiene among the village community.

The Deputy Commissioner, Nuh; Sub Divisional Magistrate, Firezepur Jhirkha; officials from district and block level line departments such as horticulture, women and child development, education, animal husbandry, public health and engineering, and others, alongside scientists from Krishi Vigyan Kendra were present at the event.
